Mr. Crowder received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama. He later attained his Masters degree from UAB and his EdS degree from the University of Montevallo. Prior to becoming the principal of Arab High School, Mr. Crowder taught anatomy, physiology, and biology for four years. He also held the assistant principal position for three years at Tarrant High School and two years at Homewood High School.

From 1995 – 2005 Mr. Rutledge taught various levels of mathematics at Scottsboro Jr. High School, Alabama Avenue Middle School, Albertville High School, and Arab High School. During that time he coached Football, Baseball, and Wrestling. He also sponsored several school clubs such as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Government Association, and Students for Christ. In 2005, Mr. Rutledge began his administrative career as Assistant Principal at Arab High School. He has a wonderful wife, Susan, and two beautiful children, Taylor Ann & Trey.
