Hello! I graduated from Arab High School
in1976. In 1982 I received a BS in Teaching the Hearing Impaired
from the University of Montevallo. I worked at UAB, Spain
Rehabilitation Center Speech, and Hearing Clinic Research
department. There, I helped with a project that used computer
images to help hearing impaired children learn to speak. In
addition to doing research, I wrote and applied for federal
grants to fund the project. I also taught at the Alabama School
for the Deaf as a communication specialist. In 1986 I became the
teacher for the hearing impaired for Arab City Schools. I am now
a collaborative teacher at
Arab High School. I am the Marshall County
Youth Leadership Sponsor and a co- sponsor for the Student
Council Association. On a personal note, I am married to Mike
Allen, and we have three children Ross, Sara and Rebecca.

Hello! I am a 1972 graduate of Arab High.
I received three degrees from
Jacksonville
State
University
– B.S. in 1975, M.S. in 1976, and AA/Eds in 1978.
I was captain of the J.S.U. varsity cheerleading team for
three years, a proud member of Phi Mu sorority, and a Pi Kappa
Phi fraternity little sister. I began my
coaching career with the J.S.U. Men’s tennis team where I also
taught English 101 and Personal and Community Health for two
years. I then married Richard Bagwell from
Arab and moved home. We have three grown
children and three precious grandchildren.
During my 30 years in education, I have taught English, Health,
Physical Education, and Science. I coached 17
years – cheerleaders, volleyball, boys and girls tennis, and
gymnastics, as well as sponsored A-Club, Spirit Club, and
Venturer’s Club. Currently, I teach senior
English, sponsor the A-Club, and serve as an Alabama Education
Association Representative. I love spending
time with my family, Alabama football, and
teaching!

Ms. Beck is a
1982 graduate of Saks
High School in Anniston, Alabama.
She has been a teacher and coach in the Arab City School System
for 20 years. She received her BS in Education at
Jacksonville
State
University. She played volleyball
for JSU and was All Gulf South Conference and Scholastic All
American. She holds two Masters Degrees from JSU: One in
Physical Education and the other in Educational Administration.

My childhood dream was to become a teacher. Ten years
after graduating from Arab
High School I returned to college
and completed my degree. I graduated from
Athens
State with a degree in
Secondary Education Social Science. I also have a Masters and
EdS degree from the University of Alabama.
I have been teaching at AHS since 1994. During my years
teaching I have taught Alabama History, Geography, English 9,
World History, American History, Dual Credit Western
Civilization and Western Civilization for Snead State
Community College in
Arab. I now teach American Government and Economics, which is
very rewarding, guiding young people to become active citizens
in the world in which we live.

Born Oct. 17th 1960 in room #3 of the Arab Hospital. Attended
Arab City Schools all of his life and graduated from AHS in 1979. Attended Wallace State and obtained an Associate Degree in Precision Machinery. Opened Liberty Machine in 1986 with his dad. They worked together until 1998 when his dad retired.
Mr. Cleveland sold the business in 2004 and began his teaching career in 2008.

Hello!
I’ve been teaching for the Arab City School System for
eleven years. I
graduated from AHS in 1990 and went straight to
Wallace
State
Community College.
Upon completion, I received my Associate’s Degree in
Drafting Design Technology.
Later, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Career
Technical Education from Athens State
University.
On a personal note, my husband Michael and I have two
children, Dylan and Gracie. Both of our children attend school
in the city school system.
I consider myself blessed to be teaching for Arab and to
be living and raising my children in such a wonderful community.

Hello! My name is LeAnn Green and I have
had the privilege of teaching in the
Arab
City School
system since 1994. As a 1986 graduate of Southside High School,
I always knew one day I would be a teacher. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 1991 with a Bachelor’s Degree,
in 1996 with a Master’s Degree, and in 2001 with an Education
Specialists Degree in secondary education. My greatest
professional achievement came in 2006 when I was awarded a
diploma as a National Board Certified Teacher for Professional
Teaching Standards. I teach American History I and II. I have
also had the opportunity to teach U.S. History 101 and 102 for Snead
State
Community College for
several years. My teaching philosophy is everyone learns
differently and is capable of learning. My job is to teach every
student in a way in which he or she can be successful, not only
in the classroom, but in life as well. My greatest personal
achievement came in 1993 when I married the love of my life,
Tim. We have been blessed with two wonderful children, Olivia
and Nicholas.

Mrs Ingram is a 1989 graduate of Hayden High School.
Mrs. Ingram attended Jacksonville State
University from 1989-1996
where he completed all her certification areas.
Mrs. Ingram has been teaching for 17 years; fifteen of

City
School district.
She has been the advisor and coach for numerous
extra-curricular activities over the years.
Mrs. Ingram has been selected Teacher of the Year for
Arab High School twice in her tenure.
She serves as the chairperson for the building leadership
team as well as the special education department.

He graduated from Arab High in 1985 and attended Snead
State before transferring to Auburn University where he received
a B.S. in Agriscience Education.

finished as State Runner-Up in 2006 and 2008! In

Hello! My name is Alisha Roeder.
I am very excited and blessed to be teaching at
Arab High School.
This is my third year teaching and I am currently
teaching Algebra A and Algebra B.
I graduated from Albertville High School in 2003 and

Claudette is a 1968 graduate of Anniston High School.
She received her B.S. in Education, Biology, and Physical
Education from Jacksonville State University
in 1972. At The University of Alabama she received a M.A.
in Student Services and received AA certification in Counseling
K-12. She has spent her entire career at AHJS with duties at
AES, the Alternative School, and AHS teaching physical
education, health, exploratory, academic lab, and Scholars’
Bowl. She served as AJHS cheerleader sponsor for 18 years and
has coached academic teams 25+ years. Her teams have won
numerous county, state and national championships. She is
married to Jim Hanson and has two German Shepherds.

Barbara Snow, a guidance counselor at Arab High School,
earned an undergraduate degree in secondary education from Jacksonville State
University in 1967 and a master’s
degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Alabama
in 1972. In 1978 she completed additional hours at

A & M
University
for an endorsement for AA Teacher Certification in guidance and
counseling. Employed in 1967 as a teacher of English, Snow
began her career in counseling in 1972 and has been a long-time
member of the faculty at
Arab
High School. She and her

I attended Union Grove Junior High School before attending and graduating
from Arab High School in 1992. I received my
BS in Mathematics Education from UAH in 1996. I love
teaching math, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to teach
the two types of math courses I enjoy most: Geometry A/B &
Algebra A/B. I also teach graduation skills remediation
for the Alabama High School Graduation Exam.
Extra-curricular, I have been the Junior Class (Prom) Sponsor
for five years and the Robotics Team sponsor for four years.
I have the blessing of being married to my best friend, Chris,
and I have two beautiful children, my son, Alex, and my
daughter, Kacy. We are members of First Baptist Church

Wow, this is my 25th year to teach Biology at
Arab
High School! As a former
AHS student, it has been an honor to return to my community and
teach. I am a graduate of UAH where I received a BS degree
in Biology and Secondary Education. I also have a MS and

Paul Tallent is in his 20th year of teaching, his 16th
in the Arab City School System. He conducts the Marching band,

I graduated from Auburn March 1999 with a degree in Business
Education. I received my first teaching job at Arab High School
(1999). I soon married Trey Williams a native of Arab and a
local banker with Wachovia Bank. While working at Arab I went
back to the University
of Alabama
and received a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership &
Administration (2002). After three years of marriage we were
blessed with a beautiful little girl Corley Alexander Williams.
Two years and three months later we were blessed again by a
beautiful baby boy Curtis Boyd Williams IV (Curt).

Hello! My name is Russ Williams. I have been
employed as a history teacher at Arab High School since 2004.
I was raised here in Arab and graduated with the Class of 1998.
I received my undergraduate degree in History from Auburn
University in 2002. I then earned my graduate degree in
Secondary Education from the University of Alabama in 2004.
Aside from teaching, I am also a football and baseball coach.
For all current students of the 2008-2009 school year and their
parents, I have attached a copy of this year’s syllabus.
Teaching is my love and calling. My goal is to help all
students grow intellectually, develop a moral sense of
responsibility, and succeed in reaching their goals. If

Mrs. Wooten graduated from Arab High School
in 1970. Attended
the University of Maryland and Calhoun Community College where
she received an A.D.N in nursing. She has been a nurse for 26
years. She has been teaching Health Science at AHS since 1987.
She is married to Rudy; they have four sons and four
grandchildren

for four years, and then started my family. I was
fortunate to be a stay at home mom until my youngest daughter
started school. I then became a substitute for the
system for about four years. I was then hired
in the system and have been here for 15 years.
I am married to Richard and have two daughters Jennifer

School and Clayton is in the 6th grade at Arab Jr. High School.

I received an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Wallace State Community College.
After working for two years, I became a stay at home mom for 7
years. After my
youngest child started kindergarten, I began to substitute for

Mrs. Isom has served as an Aide in our Special Education
Department for 10 years. She has been part of the staffs at both
Arab Elementary and Arab Junior High Schools, progressing with
her students as they advanced to higher grades. Mrs. Isom
is a graduate of Arab High School, she has 4 children who
graduated from Arab, and is proud of her Arab heritage.

Finance. I am currently working on my Accounting degree at
Athens. I am married and have two boys, Dusty and Jake who are

banking experience. Since that time I have enjoyed working
