AHS leads area in graduation rates
Aug.22, 2009

From the August 22, 2009 edition of the Arab Tribune
When it comes to graduation rates, most area schools are improving, and Arab High School leads the pack. In May, AHS graduated 94.4 percent of its seniors, who entered the ninth grade four years ago. The rate does not included students who moved away or changed schools during that time. Superintendent John Mullins said he is proud that AHS's graduation rate has improved since the state department of education began keeping records a few years ago. Last year, AHS graduated 88 percent of its seniors. About four years ago the state adopted the graduation rate and did away with the dropout rate.
