I am from Pinson, AL, and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010. While at UAB, I was active within the Music Department. I was a drum major and trumpet section leader for the Marching Blazers, a member of the wind symphony, jazz ensemble, brass quintet, trumpet ensemble, and Blazer Band (Basketball Pep Band). As a member of the UAB trumpet studio, I performed with the Trumpet Ensemble at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In the summer of 2006, I marched with Spirit of JSU Drum and Bugle Corps and was a DCI World Championship Finalist in Madison, Wisconsin. I was also on staff with Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps in the summer of 2014.

Prior to arriving at Arab High School, I was Band Director at Ardmore High School in Limestone County, and Assistant Band Director at Albert P. Brewer High School in Morgan County. Bands under my instruction have consistently received superior ratings in marching contests and state Music Performance Assessment. I also served as the Alabama Band Master’s District 1 Vice-Chairman from 2019-2020. My professional affiliations include National Association for Music Educators, Alabama Music Educators Association, Alabama Bandmasters Association, and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity.

I am happily married to my wife, Lauren, and we have four children; Elisabeth, Mabel, Minnie, and Ezra.
