Hi,  I am Amy Atkins and I teach sixth grade American History. I have been teaching for 26 years. I taught second grade my first 17 years and have been at the Junior High since 2010. I love teaching history and making it exciting for my students.

Sixth grade is a big transition for students. Not only are they changing classes several times a day but they will be using a Chromebook for class assignments and much more. The most important thing to remember is to stay organized, don't get behind, and come prepared.  You will love the Junior High!!

I have been married to my husband Rodney for almost 28 years. I have two daughters, both graduates of Arab High School. My oldest daughter, Alex, graduated from the University of North Alabama in December and is now a nurse at Huntsville Hospital. Madeline, my youngest, is a sophmore at UNA and also plans to attend nursing school.
