I am the school counselor at Arab Junior High School and have been since 2002. I graduated from Cullman High School in 1989 and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Language Arts from Athens State University in 1994. My teaching career began at Arab High School in August 1994. After teaching English for six years, I began pursuing my Master's Degree in School Counseling at Jacksonville State University. Upon graduation in 2002, I transferred from Arab High School to Arab Junior High as the counselor. As you can see, I have never taught in another school system, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Arab is a wonderful school system that supports its teachers and students in every aspect of the education process.

I love my job and enjoy working with students to assist them in learning and employing coping skills, planning for course selection, improving interpersonal relationships, and exploring career options. The best thing about my job is working with the students on a daily basis. Every day is different and full of challenges which makes the job exciting.

I have been married to my husband Rodney sicne 1994. Together we have two daughters, Savannah and Ella Claire. Savannah is currently pursuing a degree in nursing, and Ella Claire is a student at Arab High School.
