Hello!  My name is Christy Yarbrough.  I am blessed to be teaching fifth grade science and social studies.  This is my eleventh year teaching.  I have taught 1st grade for 8 years, 4th grade for two years, and this is my first year in 5th grade.  

I have two wonderful children.  Jack, is a freshman and UAH and Alexandra is a Sophomore at Arab High School.  I have grown up here in this community and even went to school in this same building.  This is such a huge part of who I am.  

When it comes to my philosophy in the classroom, I do my very best to treat each child as if they were my own. I have high expectations but I encourage through love and positive reinforcement.
