Welcome to AES! My name is Heather Phillips and I teach fouth grade reading and language here at Arab Elementary.

This is my 13th year teaching, and I have spent all of them at AES teaching precious fourth graders!  I am an Arab High School graduate (Go Knights!), graduate of Athens State University, and earned my Masters in Library Media from the University of West Alabama.

I have been married for 13 years and my husband and I have 2 precious boys. The oldest is 8 and loves to fish, hunt, and play sports. The youngest is 3 and he loves to play outside and ride his 4 wheeler. Needless to say if we are not playing out in the yard we are at a ball field somewhere. In my spare time I love to read, complete woodworking projects with my husband, and spend time with my family. 

I look forward to meeting each and every one of you and getting the opportunity to teach your child. I love building relationships with students, and watching them learn and grow. My main goal is to make sure all of my students believe in themselves as much as I believe in them.
