Mrs. Tammy Heflin

I was born in Arab and attended Arab High School. After graduating from Auburn University I moved to Georgia to work. I received my Master of Education with a concentration in Communication Disorders from Columbus State University in 1987. This is my 34th year to work with individuals who have communication disorders. I have worked in clinics, hospitals and schools with individuals from age 3 to age 99. In 1998, my husband and I, along with our two sons, moved to Arab. I have worked in the Arab City School System for the last 17 years.

It shall be the policy of the Board that the School District shall provide on a nondiscriminatory basis, equal educational opportunities for students. No student shall be denied the benefits of any educational program or activity on the basis of race, ethnicity, disability, ability, creed, national origin, religion, or gender. All programs offered by schools within the School District shall be open to all students. Equal access will be granted to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups consistent with statutory and judicial requirements. The School District may condition access and/or the privilege to participate in certain events and/or activities on the students and parents/guardians executing required waivers and hold harmless agreements which, in the event of accident or injury, would indemnify and hold harmless the School District and its employees harmless from any and all liabilities or claims made by individuals or entities as a result of a students’ participation in a given event.
