Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Leigh Boatwright

I am a graduate of Opelika High School '95. I went to college at Jacksonville State University on a cross country scholarship. I ran all 4 years of college, earning a Gamecock Scholar Athlete Award. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Special Education/Hearing Impaired certified preschool through high school in 1999. I started teaching at Jacksonville City Schools. During that time, I completed my master's degree in Elementary Education in '07. We moved to Auburn, AL and I taught at West Smiths Station for four years. I then was able to get a job at Ogletree Elementary for Auburn City Schools, where I taught a self-contained classroom for three years.  My husband received a job in Madison, AL and we moved there where I taught for 2 years at Horizon Elementary. We had a great desire to be closer to family. I am so blessed to be an Arabian Knight. I am teaching transition classes for 9th-12th grades.

I am married to Brent Boatwright, graduate of Arab '98. We have two children, Mark and Aubrey. We love all things sports, especially basketball, cross country, and football.
We are big Auburn fans and travel there often to see my family. I enjoy running, exercising, and being involved in church activities in our down times.  I am thrilled to be in Arab with my family.
