My name is Jamie Walls and I am the Art Teacher here at AES.  I could not love any job more than being able to spend time with your student creating and watching them grow and develop their skills and talents.  I believe each child that comes into the art room has been created with great purpose, gifts, and talents.  I hope our art room is a place that helps them see those gifts and talents and find their purpose.  Vincent Van Gogh once said, “I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.”  I agree with Van Gogh and I cherish every opportunity to love my art students. 

I am married to Kevin Walls and we have three children, two daughters, Catherine and Kylee and one son, Jacob.  We moved to Arab in 2014 and have fallen in love with our community and are so happy to call Arab our home.  We attend Gilliam Springs Baptist Church and also volunteer in the Children’s Ministry working with 4^th and 5^th graders.  Some of my hobbies include flower gardening, working puzzles, arts and crafts, and of course it goes without saying that I love drawing, painting, and using oil pastels! 

I graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy in 2000 but took as many elective art classes as I could manage to fit in my schedule.  Although in college my plan wasn’t to become an art teacher, I am so glad God had a different plan for my life and was gracious to allow me to the opportunity to become the art teacher at Arab Elementary School!
