The vision of Arab City Schools is invest in others, serve our community, and seek growth. Along with our core values of enthusiasm, excellence, integrity, relationships, and unity, we seek to educate students in a way that they will be able to accomplish their goals and dreams. To that end, during the 2017-2018 school year, Arab Elementary School implemented Choose Kind. Our students are constantly challenged to be kind to one another and then take their kindness into the community to possitivley impact others. While having an excellent academic foundation is important, we know that our students need to be well-rounded individuals. We are confident that our students will make a big difference in this world and we cannot wait to see it!
Individual and small group counseling can be scheduled with Mrs. Brown, AES school counselor. Parents and/or teachers may make referrals for short term counseling sessions for students needing help with personal, academic and behavioral issues that affect their school day. Please call school or send an email to request help for your child when needed. Large group guidance lessons covering objectives from the Alabama State Plan of Excellence for Guidance and Counseling are scheduled with homeroom classes that cover topics to include study skills, goal setting, conflict resolution, anger management, anti-bullying, and test taking skills.
If you would like to refer your child for Individual Guidance or Small Group Guidance, please contact me.
